This picture shows the situation after a natural disaster. I think that this picture is probably taken after a serious earthquake. The collapse of buildings and the disastrous scene of the whole place can support this inference. In addition, I think that a number of buildings have collapsed because the disruption seems to be very huge. Trees have also uprooted, probably due to the weak roots that were not able to hold the trees firmly. This may be due to the huge vibration of the earth’s surface because the force produced is large enough to cause a building to collapse. I believe that the weak foundation of the buildings is the main reason for the collapse of these infrastructures. I think that this natural disaster has happened out of a sudden because the people in the picture are not seen carrying any of their belongings with them.

The child wearing a pink vest may have been trapped while she is running for her life and so she needs the help of the guy and lady to save her out. The people that are standing at a higher position may be looking out for their precious belongings. They may be looking out for their families, friends or other victims that had been trapped inside during the collapse of the buildings. The reason is because if everyone has successful escaped during the occurrence of this natural disaster. I believe that no one will still stay at the scene because there may be another upcoming round of the natural disaster that may follows. Although I am not very sure of the actual situation that the picture shows, but I believe that it will still be quite dangerous to stay at the scene because the other infrastructures may still collapse.

From my point of view, I think that the lady wearing the red jacket is a calm person because she did not burst out in tears after serious disaster. She may be feeling very low but is not able to express her emotions out. As for the lady and the guy, I think that they are in a panic because they have to save the girl and have to worry about their safety too. I also think that the guy and lady are very courageous because they have stayed on to save the girl. The girl must be feeling very frightened because a girl at such a young age may not be brave enough to face these disastrous scene. If I am the one who is trapped, I think I will be very anxious and terrified because my life would be in danger.

I think that people standing at the higher positions are full of worries because they would not know if they would be able to find their families, friends or other trapped victims. I believe that we may not be able to understand the fear and panic in them because we have never experienced buildings, trees or infrastructure collapsing down.

I think that many people would become homeless because I believe that this natural disaster had destroyed many infrastructures and houses. People might have to crowd and live in temporary tents. Food and water supply might not be able to provide to all the people due to the huge destruction of the earthquake. People who have lost their families members or friends would have to suffer and live in misery.

This picture shows how fortunate we are because we are able to live in Singapore where there are no major disasters. Thus, we should always cherish the times we have with our families and friends. We should not grumble about our living conditions because we are really very fortunate. We should appreciate what we have and to be grateful that we still have our family with us. The pain of losing our loved ones is definitely not a good feeling to have.

However, the courageous act of the guy and lady have warmed my heart because they tried to save the child and it shows that there are still many compassionate people who are willing to lend a helping hand to others. This picture also makes me feel that all of us should help one another in a crisis because we are all living in the same world. Even though we are strangers to each other, but by lending a helping hand and touching people’s lives, we are actually bringing warmth to people’s hearts.

I also think that we should also stay calm and cool when we are facing such disastrous scene. We should act like the lady in red. Staying calm would allow us think carefully of what are the things that we should do next. If we are very anxious, we might be at a lost of what to do.

In conclusion, I think that we should always appreciate what we have because we never know the things that might happen in the next second.
