This picture illustrates a scene of a classroom full of students. Judging from the setting of the picture, the students seem to be very studious as they are bending their heads down and doing their own work. The students do not seems to be from Singapore as the classroom does not look like a typical Singapore schools. I can also see that some of the students are wearing jackets, which shows that the weather might be rather cold. The jackets are of the same colour and design. The jackets that they are wearing might be part of their school uniform, and they are only allowed to wear their school's jacket.

The students have proper furniture to study with, as their tables and chairs are made of metal. The classroom is rather decent, with concrete wall and windows, which allows ventilation. The classroom is also fitted with proper lightings. They also have a blackboard in front of the classroom. From this I can say that the school is located in a country that does not experience poverty and natural disaster. It might be located in countries that are more developed and richer, as they can afford this. They are considering very fortunate as they can have a proper education, a good learning environment and have clothing that would keep them warm. They must know that children from poorer country do not have the chance to study in such a good environment.

In the background of the picture, a teacher is standing in front of the classroom, near the blackboard. The teacher do not seems to be teaching the students, instead she stand in front of the classroom, looking over the direction to the students. From this, I can tell that maybe the teacher had assigned the students some assignment or homework to do. Perhaps the student might be taking some class tests or exam. That's why we see that the students are doing their own work quietly, without disturbing the others.

The students portray a very positive attitude towards studying. In Singapore, we are unlikely to see a situation where by every single student in the class is listening to their teacher attentively, or doing their own work without talking to others or discussing with their peers. The students in the picture are very good example for us to follow. School is a place to learn, to gain knowledge and to be a person which can contribute to the society in the future. If everybody is able to be like those students in the picture, they ought to achieve good academic results.

To end of this picture discussion, I would like to say that to be able to study is a privilege that not all the people in the world enjoys. So we must really be grateful to what we have and to treasure it.
