courage and strength

This picture depicts a scene of young children squatting down, forming a line. Inferring from the boy at the bottom left hand corner, who is clutching to a bag of food, they were probably lining up to collect their rations. I think they are villagers of some Asia country. The children seem to be drenched, and the floor is also wet. It might be raining, and the downpour might have destroyed their home, which explained the expression on their faces. Perhaps many people were affected by the disaster as the queue appears to be very long. This ration is most likely to help the children only as the children are the ones getting in line, or perhaps they are orphans that have lost their parents in a disaster as no adults are accompanying them to collect their rations. Some of them are frowning and seems to be very helpless and gloomy; I believe that they are suffering from some kind of hardship.

They don't seem to be quite well-off, as they are wearing clothes that are tattered. At the top right hand corner, the boys are even topless. They are very skinny and don't seem to have proper meals that are nutritious. For their age, they should have sufficient nutritious food as they are still growing up. The company that is giving out the rations must have known that the village has a lot of children; therefore they offer a helping hand to help the young and innocent ones. The surroundings also doesn't seem be clean. There are twigs and litter on the floor. In order to improve their hygiene, there is a need to clean up the place, so there will not be any spread of diseases among the villagers.

Despite the wet weather, they are not holding any umbrellas or wearing any ponchos. Yet they are still wearing such light clothing, not even afraid that they would catch a cold. They didn't even bother to seek shelter. I think that they didn't want to get out of the line as they didn't want to start queuing from the back again as it takes a lot of time to wait for their turn. The children have to solely depend on the ration as they don't have the financial capability to buy food and daily necessities. In such situation, they need to be assisted in order to survive.

I think that the company that is giving out rations is very charitable. At this point of time, the orphans need help and comfort. This type of disaster is inevitable. The sudden occurrence of calamitous events resulted in loss of life, damage and hardship. The children did not want them to happen. Many lives were already lost through this incident, I'm sure that the country and other residents doesn't want more lives to be lost through starvation and outbreak of diseases. It is very heartbreaking to see these children losing their parents at such young age. They are very strong, and don't seem to be greatly affected by the tragedy. Their courage and strength are worth respecting. I don't know what would have become of me if I were to be in their shoes. Not everyone can accept the facts so easily and quickly. They are all indeed remarkable!
